I hadn’t understood how days could be both long and short at the same time: long to live through, maybe, but so drawn out that they ended up flowing into one another. They lost their names.

They used a Kanye West song in The Great Gatsby trailer because when I think F. Scott Fitzgerald my first thought is Kanye West.
When I think Jay Gatsby, I think Kanye West. Seriously.

Anyone hating on Baz’s decision to use a Kanye West, Jay-Z song in the trailer to the Gatsby film on the grounds that it’s not a 1920’s song is a retard….sorry
No idea if this was the reason or not but it seems to me like Jay-Z and Kanye ARE Jay Gatsby to a certain degree.
Let’s analyze. Jay Gatsby was a poor child who rose to be filthy rich by doing mostly illegal things….sound familiar? He was also a College Dropout, ring any bells?
Not to mention that the song sets up the second part of the trailer very well where he uses a Jack White cover of a U2 song. The first part is the party part with a party song and the second part begins to explore the love story part with…you guessed it, a love song.
All that aside Romeo & Juliet was one of my favorite movies/soundtracks of all time so I’m going to save judgement for after I see the film.

Reblog if you have met someone online that you would love to hang with but they live far away.
You know who you are.
